As the most important date in the Blind Veterans UK diary, Remembrance is a time to come together to honour the service and sacrifice of old comrades and friends.
We are delighted to invite our Members to Remembrance weekend in Manchester.
Please read the details below and register your interest if you wish to attend. You are welcome to bring along a companion or carer.
We will do our very best to provide places for everyone. However, if any of the events on offer are oversubscribed, then places will be allocated via ballot.
Remembrance Weekend activities
Saturday 7 November
14.00 - 15.00
A short service will be conducted outside Manchester Piccadilly Station by “The Lads” statue to commemorate the life of our founder, Sir Arthur Pearson and all those lost.
Saturday 7 November
15.00-18.00
On the Saturday, we will host an informal dinner at Holiday Inn, Manchester Piccadilly. This is free to attend for Members and their chosen guest. Priority will be given to those attending Remembrance Sunday.
Sunday 8 November
Time 11.00
On Sunday, blind veterans will attend the Service of Remembrance held at St Peter's Square, Manchester.
Accommodation for Saturday 7 November
We are delighted to share that Blind Veterans UK is offering a £100 contribution to our Members who book a room at Manchester Piccadilly Holiday Inn for the Saturday night.
Guests opting to stay at Holiday Inn will receive a discount code and booking instructions after registration has closed. Please note that the discount is applied per room.

Located just 100 meters from Manchester Piccadilly Station.
The Saturday evening dinner will take place at the hotel.
It's a short 15 minute walk or 8 minute taxi to St Peter's Square.

Grants
Grants may still be available to Members who need support should the financial outlay prohibit attendance.
Transport
If you’d like to register but feel transport costs and availability could be a barrier, we may be able to help with this. We can check if you meet our essential criteria for support when we call to confirm your place.
