Help blind and vision-impaired veterans rebuild their lives after sight loss

When a veteran loses their sight, everyday tasks can become overwhelming. Isolation can grow and independence can feel out of reach.

Blind Veterans UK provides specialist rehabilitation, practical support and emotional wellbeing services to help veterans regain confidence and live the life they choose.

With support of trusts and foundations, we can reach more blind veterans with life-changing training, essential equipment and community-based support across the UK.

What your funding could support

Support from trusts and foundations plays a crucial role in helping us meet the changing needs of blind veterans and provide the right support at the right time.

Rehabilitation and training

We provide specialist rehabilitation and training to help blind veterans develop the skills they need to navigate daily life, maintain independence and stay safe at home and in their communities.

Specialist equipment and low vision aids

From practical devices in the home to equipment that helps veterans make the most of their remaining sight, the right tools can make an enormous difference.

Community-based support

A gift from your trust or foundation can help ensure people have access to specialist community teams based in their local area.

Funding where the need is greatest

If you prefer, your gift can be used where it will have the greatest impact, helping us respond flexibly to veterans’ needs across the UK.

How your support helps veterans like Rob

Rob was just 23 when a horrific explosion in Afghanistan destroyed both his eyes and turned his life upside down.

Blind Veterans UK helped Rob regain his independence through specialist rehabilitation, training and support. Hear Rob explain, in his own words, what that support has meant to him.
