Our D-Day veteran portraits feature at National Army Museum exhibition
We are delighted to invite you to visit our D-Day 80 photography display, a special exhibition at the National Army Museum in London.
The exhibition runs from 24 May to 9 June 2024 and is free to the public, with no booking required.
This exhibition commemorates the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings, a pivotal moment in the Second World War. We have teamed up with award-winning photographer Richard Cannon to present a series of poignant portraits of veterans who served in Normandy.
Each portrait is uniquely overlaid on historical photographs from D-Day and the Second World War, providing a glimpse of what the veterans would have experienced.
Each photograph is accompanied by the veteran’s personal story from D-Day, offering insights into their heroic contributions and the varied roles they played in securing our freedom. These narratives highlight the immense commitment and sacrifices made by so many. Large text versions of the stories are accessible to individuals with a vision impairment.
We invite you to visit this special exhibition at the National Army Museum to honour their legacy and understand the profound impact of their service.
