Entertaining our veterans this Christmas

Published on 15 Dec 2022

Veterans at our Centre of Wellbeing in Llandudno treated to a fabulous dance show as part of their Christmas themed stay.

We have held two ‘Turkey and Tinsel’ weeks this year at the centre, during which blind veterans came together to take part in a host of Christmas activities including a Christmas lunch with all the trimmings.

The Christmas themed show, full of singing, dancing and colourful costumes, was put on by the children from Linzi Grace’s School of Dance which is based in nearby Penrhyn Bay.

The children, aged between 11 and 17 plus one aged just six-years-old, gave our veterans a bit of everything from tap dancing elves to a solo performance from the dance club’s very own Shirley Temple.

Linzi, who runs the dance school, said:

“The show for the blind veterans at Llandudno was a lovely way to end our winter term.”

Clare who works as a Community Engagement Coordinator at our Llandudno Centre said:

“We want to say a huge thank you to Linzi and all the performers who kindly gave up their Saturday night to entertain our veterans. Everyone was clapping their hands and tapping their feet. The children were a credit to the dance school and their parents.”
“I always loved the ballet and have been to see many over the years. There were definitely some talented dancers in the group, we’ll be keeping an eye out for them on a stage in the future.”
