The impact your gift will have
Leaving a gift in your Will builds a better future for blind veterans.
A gift in your Will can change lives for years to come, helping blind veterans rebuild their confidence, regain their independence and know they're never facing sight loss alone.
Blind Veterans UK has the expertise to help vision-impaired veterans rebuild their lives, but we rely on the generosity of people who share our commitment. Gifts in Wills provide vital funding that enables us to reach more blind veterans each year and continue our life-changing work.
Read on to discover to difference these special gifts make.
“My life has been rebuilt by gifts in Wills”
When Rob was caught in an explosion in Afghanistan in 2010, one of his eyes was destroyed instantly, while the other was so damaged that doctors were forced to remove it.
“The support Blind Veterans UK offers is huge. I don't know where I'd be without it. There's no other organisation that could have brought me back to the world like they have.
This is why I’ve left them a gift in my Will. The charity relies on these gifts to do what they do, and I want to ensure that the same support is available for blind veterans long into the future.
“These incredible gifts in Wills are vital to ensure that the skills and experience that Blind Veterans UK has gained in supporting veterans like me since 1915 are never lost.”
Did you know gifts in Wills fund the support for five in ten of our blind veterans? Your gift really does make a difference.
Sheila's newfound confidence and independence
"When I lost my sight, I thought it was the end of the world. I'd lost my independence, my confidence was at rock bottom, and I couldn’t imagine what my future would look like.
“Blind Veterans UK helped me learn new skills, regain my independence and start enjoying life again. It showed me that there were still so many things I could do and achieve.
“It means a great deal to know that many supporters choose to remember blind veterans in their Will. Their generosity helps ensure future veterans can access the same opportunities and encouragement that I've been fortunate enough to receive."
Using gifts where they matter most
Responding to the needs of blind veterans is at the heart of everything we do.
We are constantly evolving our services to ensure our veterans receive support in the way that works best for them, whether that's in their community, at our Rustington Centre, or virtually.
Blind veterans Ian says: "After losing my sight, even spending time with my daughters became challenging. Thanks to Blind Veterans UK, I can now live independently again, and I know help is there whenever I need it.”
By delivering support where it's needed most, we can make a life-changing difference to the people we serve.
