National Creative Wellbeing Project (NCWP)
Request a kit
Every month, we put together a selection of VI-friendly creative activities for you to do from the comfort of your own home.
You'll find our March project of activities below. For more information and to request a kit, simply fill in the form.
What's our NCWP?
Our NCWP is for all our Members, whether you loved arts and crafts prior to your sight loss and need a helping hand to continue, or you're simply looking for something to occupy your time.
It's available to all Members and is especially popular with those unable to visit one of our centres or who simply enjoy engaging in a creative project in a comfortable environment.
You may have taken part in arts and crafts activities prior to your sight loss and feel unsure how to continue them, or you may just be looking for something to occupy your time.
We'll send you everything you need to complete your creative activity, plus easy to follow, step-by-step large print instructions, as well as audio instructions on a USB stick or on email by request.
Yes! The instructions are written with a VI user in mind, with tactile prompts and image descriptions, offering a more bespoke project than something you'd find in a craft store.
Taj Mahal
A few members have requested models of buildings, and we hope you love this Taj Mahal model. Despite having 171 pieces, the pattern is symmetrical and a lot of parts are repeated – orientation doesn’t matter too much and it’s easier than it might seem. Just take your time and give it a go! The dimensions of the finished model are 18cm x 22cm x 22cm. You’ll receive a step-by-step graphic guide to help you complete it with some glue and sandpaper.

Summer mandala mosaic
The last of our seasonal mandala mosaics – we have chosen some rich, warm summer colours for this design made up of concentric circles. Your tiles will be pre-sorted for you into labelled bags, and you’ll receive everything else you need for your mosaic along with a step-by-step guide.

Butterfly house
We’re delighted to share this woodwork project with you. Once constructed, this acts as a safe haven for butterflies and other insects when hung in a sunny spot in the garden. To support with this project, we have labelled the pieces and added high contrast stickers to identify the pre-drilled holes, along with a step-by-step guide. You will need a hammer, Philips head screwdriver and a bradawl.

Also available
Botanical Sketchbook – our regular sketchbook kit is available year-round. This comes with a variety of sketching materials, two sketchbooks and some floral tactile prompts to help you get started.
Additional information
Thank you for your patience with delays on dispatch while we’ve been catching up on a backlog of project requests. There is always enough stock to go round and we’ll be back up to full capacity in July.
Give us your feedback
We'd love to hear your thoughts on our activities. Your feedback is so valuable as it helps shape the work we do, so we really appreciate it when you complete and return the surveys in your kits.
We’d also love to see your finished creations! Do email us a photo of yourself with your work and let us know how you got on with it.
